Helen is an experienced Clinical Psychologist with over fifteen years of psychology experience. She is a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental and genuine person and therapist. Helen loves being a psychologist and supporting clients collaboratively in therapy. She is committed to ongoing self and professional growth and is always learning. Helen is a passionate psychologist and believes in breaking the stigma around mental health. Helen works with adults in individual short or long term therapy, to get what they want and need out of therapy and life. Whether it is to lead more fulfilling lives, to grow, to gain more understanding and clarity, to to feel happier and more peaceful, improve quality of life and/ or thrive. Helen is a great listener and in working with your goals, provides guidance, skills, encouragement and psychological treatment to reduce distress and improve functioning.

Helen uses a compassionate person-centred approach in therapy and provides a safe space to be heard and understood. Helen aims to collaboratively understand your unique concerns and their causes, to provide individually tailored treatments that meet your needs.

Helen is skilled in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Schema Informed Therapy and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping somatic therapy.

Helen has psychology experience within private practice, community centre, university clinic, inpatient and outpatient hospital, school, employment services, telehealth, rural and volunteer organisation settings. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults with a range of psychological issues.

Helen completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney and postgraduate studies at Macquarie University and Southern Cross University. She holds a Master of Psychology (Clinical) from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and her research thesis investigated perfectionistic thinking, rumination, worry and psychological distress.

Helen consults at Calvert & Associates Psychology on Mondays, Fridays and telehealth on other business days.
